Five Class 8 Students Test Positive for Swine Flu

Authorities at an English medium school in Pune have shut down an entire class of standard eight after five students tested positive for swine flu.

According to Superintendent of Naidu Hospital, Dr Sudhir Pachpute, the infection could have spread through a student who returned from the US under a cultural exchange programme.

One division of Class VIII will remain shut till July 21. Meanwhile, late on Thursday evening, the National Institute of Virology (NIV) confirmed that two more of the eight samples sent had tested positive for the virus.
