August 11th Update: 119 New Cases

One hundred and nineteen confirmed cases of swine flu have been reported today. This is the first time that the number of cases in a day has touched three digits. Again most of the cases are local people with no previous travel history. The total number of cases has crossed 1000 and now stands at 1078.

Of the 15 cases reported during the day from Delhi, one (19/M) travelled from Manila in Phillippines. The other 14 cases do not have a travel history (37/M; 12/F; 20/F; 44/F; 25/M; 19/M; 14/F; 37/M; 41/M; 22/M; 11/M; 12/M)

Maharashtra reported a total of 91 cases. Pune reported 62 cases during the day, one of whom has a travel history to Saudi Arabia (12/M). The other 61 cases do not have any history of travel.

Karnataka reported 6 cases during the day. Mangalore reported 2 indigenous cases (22/M, 21/M). 4 indigenous cases were reported from Bangalore (33/F; 27/M; 1/M; 23/M).

Gujarat reported 1 indigenous case from Ahmedabad during the day (23/M).

Goa reported a case (25/M) who travelled from Spain via Dubai.

Hyderabad reported 2 cases during the day. One has a domestic travel history from Pune (28/M) and the other is a 51 year old male who travelled from Bangkok, Thailand.

The case in Jammu (J& K) is a 23 year old female who has a domestic travel history to Mumbai and Pune in the recent past.

Kerala reported 2 cases during the day one of which is an indigenous case (31/M) from Trivandrum. The other is a 12 old female child who travelled from Doha.

589 have been cured and discharged. 9 have died and rest of them remains admitted to the identified health facilities.
