August 19th Update: 216 New Cases

Two Hundred and Sixteen confirmed cases of swine flu have been reported in India today. The number of cases reported goes back to 3 digits after a double digit growth yesterday. However it is lower than the highest single-day count of 220 reported two days earlier. New cities with infections today -  Rajkot, Buldan, Beed, Jamnagar and Daman. Chennai records a high 30 infections.

Delhi reported 25 cases today, out of which three (3) cases have foreign travel history. All the other cases reported during the day are indigenous cases with no foreign travel history.

The cumulative deaths reported till now are 28: Pune (13), Bangalore (5).Mumbai (3), Nasik (3), Ahmedabad (1), Chennai (1), Vadodara (1) and Trivandrum (1).

The total positive cases now stands at 2242 out of which 758 have been discharged.
