What is Swine Flu

Swine flu is an infection caused by a virus. It's named for a virus that pigs can affect pigs. People usually do not get swine flu, but human infections can and do happen. The virus is contagious and can spread from human to human. Symptoms of swine flu in people are similar to the symptoms of regular human flu and include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue.

Swine flu also known as swine influenza, hog flu and pig flu. In 2009 the media labeled as "swine flu" the flu caused by 2009's new strain of swine-origin A/H1N1 pandemic virus just as it had earlier dubbed as "avian flu" flu caused by the recent Asian-linage HPAI (High Pathogenic Avian Influenza) H5N1 strain that is still endemic in many wild bird species in several countries.

Swine flu is a new influenza virus causing illness in people. This new virus was first detected in people in the United States in April 2009. Other countries, including Mexico and Canada, have reported people sick with this new virus. This virus is spreading from person-to-person, probably in much the same way that regular seasonal influenza viruses spread.

Although symptoms have generally proved mild, a small number of patients will develop more serious illness.  Many of these people have other underlying health conditions, such as heart or lung disease, that put them at increased risk.

On June 11, 2009, the World Health Organization (WHO) signaled that a global pandemic of novel influenza A (H1N1) was underway by raising the worldwide pandemic alert level to Phase 6. This action was a reflection of the spread of the new H1N1 virus, not the severity of illness caused by the virus. At the time, more than 70 countries had reported cases of novel influenza A (H1N1) infection and there were ongoing community level outbreaks of novel H1N1 in multiple parts of the world.

Dear All,

The main route of transmission of the new influenza A(H1N1) virus seems to be similar to seasonal influenza, via droplets that are expelled by speaking, sneezing or coughing. You can prevent getting infected by avoiding close contact with people who show influenza-like symptoms (try to maintain a distance of about 1 meter) and taking the following measures:

Wash Your Hands at regular intervals-preferably with an alcohol based soap / liquid.
Take care of your health. Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, drink plenty of water, eat nutritious food & increase the intake of fruits.

Avoid crowded areas like multiplexes and malls.

Refrain from touching your own mouth, nose and eyes.

Pay attention to hygiene & regular household cleaning. Use products / disinfectants containing bleach that kill the influenza virus.

Consider carrying an alcohol-based sanitizer when access to clean water and soap is not possible.

The most common question asked:
Should I take an antiviral now just in case I catch the new virus?
No. You should only take an antiviral if your general physician advises you to do so. Individuals should not buy medicines to prevent or fight this new influenza without a prescription, and they should exercise caution in buying anti-virals.

Be Cautious and Be Safe

Warm Regards,
Dr. khazi Muzaffar ul islm M.B.B.S, M.D.(A.M)

Agnihotra for Swine Flu:

The ancient Vedas describe an excellent way to burn away the negativity in one's life by performing the 'Agnihotra' at the exact time of sunset and sunrise. This corresponds to nature's Biorhythm, and is based upon the science of Bioenergy.

It is a method of burning a fire in a copper vessel, having the shape of an inverted pyramid, with the dried cake of cowdung, ghee made of cow's milk and whole rice grains, (about two pinches) while chanting mantras. The mantras create specific sound energy vibration, which purify the atmosphere, making it conducive to health and creativity, and protection from various diseases, including the present epidemic of swine flu. It is a very easy procedure that can be performed in any place.

There is no restriction of age, sex, or religion to perform 'Agnihotra'. The benefits of this are manifold, and have been extensively researched by modern methods.

Agnihotra relates to the purification of the Cosmic life energy. Kirlian photography proves that even inanimate objects have a certain energy field. This means that Cosmic energy is part if everything visible, and invisible, animate and inanimate on earth.

The place where ‘Agnihotra’ is performed has a healing cycle of purity and sanctity.

In the epidemic of Swine flu, performance of ‘Agnihotra’ is greatly beneficial, as it helps to remove disease causing organisms from the atmosphere. In such a situation if one is not able to accurately follow the timings of sunrise or sunset, or chant mantras, the actual fire of Agnihotra can still be beneficial.

Researchers have found that the medicinal properties of the fire, and fumes produced while performing the Agnihotra, with cowdung cakes, and cow ghee arrests growth of disease causing germs. If it is not possible to obtain cowdung cakes, one can use twigs of medicinal plants for the fire.

We can observe that in Shirdi, the place of abode of Shri Sai baba, there is a holy fire burning since more than 100 years, and devotees have experienced the amazing healing powers at that place.

The use of Agnihotra is to be experienced. We have been using it for a long time, and no one has suffered from swine flu in our vicinity. Besides we are in contact with a lot of patients being related to the medical field, but have been able to protect ourselves from it.

This is the funniest approach one can have towards the pandemic, its surprising that yet no one have suggested to worship lord vishnu, as Varah is his form, so praising him may stop the pandemic!!!! Actually we all must tell government and respective authorities to have this AGNIHOTRA which apear to be a RAAMBAAN solution on swine flu!!!

Hello Mr. Mandar,
Everything appears funny when one does not understand it, and one does not read correctly. We have no claims that Agnihotra is RAAMBAAN for Swine Flu. A number of research activities have been done on Agnihotra in Russia, and its effects upon life forms in the surrounding area have been studied by Kirlian photography. So rather than laugh at it, like ignorant people have done in the past it is worthwhile to investigate its effects.Try to experience the effects. We are not marketing it like Drug companies are for their drugs, mind well!

I started performing agnihotra (sunset) two months back. Actually I started to get protection against swine flu. My self and all family members not suffered from any symptom of fever, cold, cough (except my mother in law was suffering from fever and cold and now cured). Besides I started feeling some different and powerful energy and atmosphere in my house. Many types of birds come more often to our garden. Nowadays there is heavy climatical imbalance like heavy rain in evening and heat at day time. Performing agnihotra create the protective shell against this. I have read many articles on agnihotra. It is definitely unique, easy and most economical way to keep atmosphere clean and avoid any type of epidemic diseases. I haven't got any authentic information on agnihotra vibhuti as medicine. Thanks.

If Agnihotra is so damn effective, then why is research happening in Russia? Why should I trust such research? If it were polular then our grandmothers would have told us about it (just like having honey when one gets cough). Also would you please explain what is Kirlian photography. Never heard of it. The general idea is to gain respect and popularity by utterring unknown and uncommon terms like Kirlian photography and saying 'according to research in Russia'... PLEASE.

Recently I read about agnihotra that one can save earth by performing agnihotra at the time of sunrise and sunset as it cleans the ozone layer also means purification of atmonphere through scientific use of fire. Also agnihotra fire produces oxygen in environment. I think Kirlin photography means aura photography. It catches the effects of meditation, agnihotra thru aura photography. Lot of information about agnihotra is available on internet. I read about kirlin photography on one of agnihotra sites on internet.

Amitji Namaste,

Kirlian photography refers to a form of photogram made with a high voltage. It is named after Semyon Kirlian, who in 1939 accidentally discovered that if an object on a photographic plate is connected to a source of high voltage, small corona discharges (created by the strong electric field at the edges of the object) create an image on the photographic plate.[1] The Kirlian technique is contact photography, in which the subject is in direct contact with a film placed upon a metal plate charged with high voltage, high frequency electricity.

Influenza A H1N1 is a circulating seasonal influenza virus that caused pandemic in 1918-1919. The present pandemic is being caused by a new sub type of Influenza A H1N1 which has re-assorted with antigenic segments from American swine, Eurasian Swine, avian and human influenza virus. The majority of these cases have occurred in otherwise healthy young adults. The incubation period is from 1-7 days. The virus is spreading from human to human through droplet infection. The period of communicability is from 1 day before to 7 days after the onset of symptoms. It may be longer in children (up to 3 weeks) The virus is currently sensitive to Oseltamivir.

Swine flu, also known as 2009 H1N1 type A influenza, is a human disease. People get the disease from other people, not from pigs.

The disease originally was nicknamed swine flu because the virus that causes the disease came to humans from pigs. The virus contains genes from swine, bird, and human flu viruses. Scientists are still arguing about what the virus should be called, but most people know it as the H1N1 swine flu virus.

The swine flu viruses that spread among pigs aren't the same as human flu viruses. Swine flu doesn't often infect people, and the rare human cases that have occurred in the past have mainly affected people who had direct contact with pigs. But the current "swine flu" outbreak is different. It's caused by a new swine flu virus that has changed in ways that allow it to spread from person to person -- and it's happening among people who haven't had any contact with pigs.

That makes it a human flu virus. To distinguish it from flu viruses that infect mainly pigs and from the seasonal influenza A H1N1 viruses that have been in circulation for many years, the CDC calls the virus "2009 H1N1 virus." Other names include "novel H1N1" or nH1N1, "quadruple assortant H1N1," and "2009 pandemic H1N1."

Many people have at least partial immunity to seasonal H1N1 viruses because they've been infected with or vaccinated against this flu bug. These viruses "drift" genetically, which is why the flu vaccine has to be tweaked from time to time.
