Confirmed: Swine Flu Spreading Between Humans in India

The first case of secondary contraction of swine flu has been reported from Ahmedabad. Four girls returning from the United States have passed on the virus to a 45 year old man who had come to pick them up from the Ahmedabad railway station in Gujarat, India.

The girls had returned to Ahmedabad via Delhi on July 8 after a one-year stay in the US. While two girls tested positive for swine flu on the 11th of July, two other girls tested positive for the flu on 12th July.

The four girls and the man have been kept in isolation at the Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad. There are now fears that two more friends of the affected girl could have contracted swine flu and they too have been kept at the Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad.
